Who can take this course?

Our course is designed for California teens ages 15 to 17½ who are preparing to get their learner’s permit.

Is your course DMV-approved?

Yes. DriversEducationUSA.com is a California DMV-approved provider of online driver education for teens.

How does the course work?

Our course is 100% online and self-paced. You can log in from any computer or mobile device, study at your convenience, and complete each section at your own speed. Once you pass the final test, we’ll mail you the official DMV Certificate of Completion (DL-400C).

When will I receive my certificate?

We mail your certificate within 1 business day of passing the final test. It is sent via USPS First-Class Mail. We recommend allowing 2 to 5 business days for delivery.

Can you email or send a copy of the certificate?

No. The DMV generally requires the original, hard-copy DL-400C certificate and may reject photocopies, scans, or emailed copies. Please wait for the mailed certificate before scheduling your DMV appointment.

What if I lose my certificate?

If you lose your certificate, please contact us to request a reprint. Note that a reprint may delay your DMV scheduling, so we recommend keeping your original safe.

The course is only $19.90 — there are no hidden fees. That includes your final test and mailing of your official DMV certificate.

Is there a time limit to complete the course?

No. You can take as much time as you need to complete the course. There are no time limits or expiration dates once you're enrolled.

Can I retake the quizzes or final test if I don’t pass?

Yes. You can retake all quizzes and the final test as many times as needed — at no additional cost.
