How to save gas / Driving tips for saving gas

Accelerate smoothly.
Don't accelerate too fast or push the accelerator down too far.

Stay within the speed limit.
As you accelerate over 55 mph, you start losing fuel economy, so staying within the speed limit of 55 mph (or 65 mph) will provide much better fuel economy than driving over 70 mph.

  • Make sure your tires have the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure.
  • Do not use air conditioning if you don't need to use it.
  • Keep your windows closed while driving.
  • Do not carry unnecessary weight in the vehicle.
