Vehicle Gears
The gearshift is an essential part of the vehicle that you will use each time you drive.
In an automatic transmission car, it is either a lever on the steering wheel or on the center console. Gear selections include Drive (D), Reverse (R), and Park (P).
In manual transmission vehicles, you select the gear using a stick shift and the clutch, a pedal located to the left of the brake. Operate the clutch pedal with your left foot as your heel rests on the car's floor.
