Driving off the pavement of a roadway can cause an accident. If you are forced off the roadway or must drive off the pavement, follow the tips below to avoid serious injury:
- Stay calm – panicking will not help.
- Keep your hands firmly on the wheel.
- Steer straight ahead of you.
- Stay on the shoulder of the road.
- Brake gradually and slow to a stop.
